Challenges

What happens if I fail a challenge?

Failing a challenge can happen, but it’s not the end of the world. The goal is to take part in as many challenges as possible and prove that you’re making every effort to successfully complete them, thus meeting the participation requirements for Hilo Challenges and avoiding termination of the Participant’s Agreement.

If you missed out on a few challenges, don’t panic! Just make sure to reduce your consumption even further during the remaining challenges, primarily by avoiding the use of high energy-consuming devices, such as household appliances. Remember, rewards are calculated based on your home’s total energy consumption during the reduction phase of a challenge. Making an effort pays off: you’ll not only earn more rewards but also contribute to Hilo’s mission to reduce energy consumption during peak periods.
